Blending
the Old and the New
Our expansion to accommodate larger apartments and more amenities still
allows Mount Vernon House to remain a small, home-like assisted living
residence. With just seventeen apartments, we have not sacrificed our
signature features of highly personalized care and the feeling of living
in a private home. With the expansion, each resident will enjoy modern
amenities usually available only in much larger residences. The result
will be an unparalleled environment that brings together all the pleasures
of life in a close-knit community of people who care for and about one
another.
Make
Yourself at Home
At Mount Vernon House, life is as you like it.
There are always opportunities for companionship and things to do. Within
our home, residents may relax in the library with a good book, work out
in the exercise room, enjoy a movie on the wide screen TV in our family
room, gather with friends in the Country Kitchen, entertain family in
the private dining room, or join in a planned activity or outing.
A choice of freshly prepared, nutritious meals are offered
three times a day by our chef who strives to accommodate the dietary needs
and requests of each resident, and snacks are offered throughout the day!
When its time for rest and privacy, residents are just
a short way from their own beautiful apartment, which they have furnished
with their most cherished belongings.
Enjoy Winchester
Mount Vernon House is conveniently located within walking distance to
town, close to shops, restaurants, churches, the Senior Center and public
transportation. Because the majority of our residents are longtime Winchester
residents or family members, they are able to remain connected to the
people and places they know and love.
Management and Licensing
Mount Vernon House is run by a community volunteer Board of Directors.
It is managed by a Registered Nurse Administrator and is licensed by the
Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs.
